About Us: First of all, thank you for your interest in my listing. I am an FFL Dealer in Connecticut, as well as a collector. The business name, Warthog Arms, is derived from my Air Force service as an avionic tech on A-10 Thunderbolts (also known as the Warthog). I always strive to go the extra mile to ensure a very satisfying transaction and have an established, trustworthy reputation. I also use GB for listings so if you would like to view my feedback, you can look me up in Advanced Search under Warthog-Arms. My current rating there is A+(160).
Sistema Colt Model 1927, .45 ACP, Navy (Marina De Guerra), 1956
Description: For your consideration is an Argentine Sistema Colt Model 1927. It was manufactured in 1956 and issued to the Argentine Navy. It is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP with a 5” barrel, based on the design of the Colt 1911A1. Sistema Colts were licensed for production by the Argentine government from Colt and made between 1927 and 1966. “Sistema” is derived from them being produced on the Colt system (machinery), which was set up under supervision by Colt employees. Sistema Colts were made from forged steel and are just as long-lived and reliable as their Hartford counterparts. All parts are interchangeable between them, unlike the Argentine Ballester Molina. The German, British, and Swedish steel used in their manufacture was the best available. They are regarded as 100% Colt pistols, "Fully USGI," according to one opinion, "in fit, finish, form, and function." Navy marked Sistemas are less common, as only 6,226 of a total of 88,494 were so marked. Air Force Sistemas are the least common, with only 4,285 being produced. This pistol was likely in Navy service during the Falkland-Malvina War in 1982. Right side of slide is marked "REPUBLICA ARGENTINA MARINA DE GUERRA SIST. COLT. CAL. 11.25 mm. MOD. 1927" and the left side of slide is marked D.G.F.M. - (F.M.A.P.). Numbers match on frame, top and right side of slide, and chamber. Magazine is correct/numbered but non-matching. The black oxide finish appears to be original. There is some minor wear and handling marks on the frame, slide and grips. Markings are correct and sharp. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. Mechanically excellent, with crisp action. Overall, a nice Sistema Colt for your collection and/or shooting pleasure. Please see my pictures for more details of the condition of this item.
