WWI Springfield 1911 From 1914 Including A 1914 RIA Holster Belonging To WW1 Vet & Commander of 123rd Field Artillery, Retired Col. James Bereth.
Description:
I am offering a unique opportunity to own a true piece of American WWI history that doesn’t come up very often. First, we have a very early 1911 Springfield manufactured in 1914. This Springfield was manufactured in the first ever production lot from serial number 72,751 thru 83,855 produced in 1914. It is in great condition with honest wear and not abused in the 112 years since it was made. This Springfield appears to be all original with the following items clearly marked with the Springfield “S” on them… Barrel, Hammer, Trigger, Safety, Extractor, Firing Pin Stop, Disconnector, Sear, Safety Lock, Safety Grip, Main Spring Housing, Slide Stop, with the original Magazine and Grips. Secondly, we have a very nice 1914 Rock Inland Arsenal holster owned by a WWI Vet & Commander of 123rd Field Artillery, Retired Colonel James Basil Bereth Monmouth, Illinois. Colonel Bereth was born on November 15,1884 and had an impressive military career serving in France during WWI, Commander of the 123rd Field Artillery, and retiring as Colonel before his passing on May 5,1933 at the age of 48. His holster is in remarkable condition, and this set would make a great addition to any WWI or 1911 collection. The last picture is James Bereth and his wife in 1919. Please message me below if you have any questions.
