Sistema Colt Modelo 1927 .45 ACP 5" Barrel Fornalit (Bakelite) grips 39oz Mfg. 1947 Not import marked History of the Colt Model 1927 System pistol begins with the enactment of the Secret National Law No.: 11266/1923, which in one of its articles budgeted the acquisition of portable weapons and the knowledge base for their production in the country. Due to this law, a commission was appointed to carry it out and in one of its negotiations, it entered into a contract with the Colt firm, in 1927, for it to produce about 10,000 Colt M1911A1 pistols., which would bear its own numbering from 1 to 10,000 and markings of the Argentine Army and would be called Colt Cal. 45 Model 1927. It also included the provision of all current and future knowledge on the manufacture of the M1911A1 pistol. Thus, Argentina had the entire body of knowledge, in addition to the supervision of Colt technicians to produce the pistols. A total of 88,494 pistols were produced between 1943 and 1966.
