Synopsis:
Early Post-war High Power rig as issued to the West German Police in the 1950s with spare magazine and original black hard shell holster, this example with an added/raised rear sight blade.
Description:
Early Post-war FN High Power as issued to the reorganized German police. Early features including round hammer, thumb print slide, and blued finish. Standard configuration pistol with fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight, this example with a slotted in blade for additional height. Three line FN address on left slide referencing manufacturer, location and patent. Matching serial numbers on slide and frame with disassembly showing matching barrel. Checkered walnut grips with red inner surfaces. Early post war style magazines, one electropenciled to match pistol, both with aluminum follower and button release floorplate. Complete with unmarked spare magazine, and correct hard shell black leather holster with intact pull up strap marked; “A.KIND/HUNSTIG” under securing strap and individual ownership inked inside flap.
Condition:
VG+/EXC with slide arguably touched up, polish a bit brighter than usual, possibly when rear sight blade was inserted, the wear pattern consistent with the rest of the pistol. Very little wear on either front/rear grip strap. Comparable condition grips and magazines, the numbered magazine having been polished at top of forward spine for smoother insertion. Mirror bore, sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics with both magazines. EXC issue holster, with nicely marked stampings and notations inside lid. A very nice, early, post-war High Power rig issued to the West German Police, this example with an added/raised rear sight.
