The Kimber Solo Carry DC is a compact, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm Luger (9x19mm Parabellum), designed primarily for deep concealment and everyday carry. Introduced as part of Kimber‚s Solo series (around 2011), the \"DC\" variant stands for \"Dual Carry\" or sometimes associated with enhanced features like a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating on the frame/slide for durability and reduced friction, along with premium grips and sights. It‚s a single-action striker-fired design inspired by 1911 ergonomics but scaled down to micro-compact size, making it one of the smallest production 9mm pistols available during its run.

This model was marketed as a premium pocket or IWB (inside-the-waistband) carry option—lightweight, low-profile, and with a crisp trigger feel that mimics a single-action pull (smooth and consistent, often described as non-stacking like a light double-action in some reviews).  The Solo wasn't a commercial success because it was designed to fire heavier-weight bullets (147gr+).  Lighter ammunition could cause reliability issues.  I have owned 5 Kimber Solos - three have been DC models which were gone over by the Kimber custom shop.  I have never had a single misfire with a DC using 147gr ammo.
