Post-WORLD WAR 2 FABRIQUE NATIONALE Model 1935 BROWNING Hi Power C&R Pistol Likely Made Just After the German Occupation of Belgium
Description: Post-WORLD WAR 2 FABRIQUE NATIONALE Model 1935 BROWNING Hi Power C&R Pistol Likely Made Just After the German Occupation of Belgium Here we present a Fabrique Nationale Browning Hi Power Model 1935, made circa the late 1940s, just after the German Occupation of Belgium during World War II. Though made after the close of WWII, the Hi Power is a very interesting example of a WWII handgun used by both the Allies and the Axis Powers. The Hi Power was designed by the famous John Moses Browning, and brought to completion by Dieudonné Joseph Saive after Browning’s death on November 26, 1929. The result was a 13-round double stack magazine pistol in 9mm. Not only was the pistol influential before and during the war, but after WWII it was adopted en masse all over the world by an estimated 50 militaries. Its double stack magazine design itself has gone on to be used in virtually all modern double stack handguns. This specimen was likely made just after Belgium was liberated by the Allies. It features a 5 digit serial number and a fixed rear sight instead of the earlier tangent style sight system. The Germans dropped features like the tangent sight, attachable stock cutout and the magazine disconnect in an effort to save on time, money and resources toward the end of the war. The left side of the slide is marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE/HERSTAL-BELGIQUE/BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE. The full serial number is on the right side of the slide below the ejection port. Several other stamps of numbers can be found on the gun. The over condition is very good. The action is robust. The bore is mirror bright. Both grips are in very good shape remaining firm with sharp checkering! All markings are clear. Here is a truly fantastic Cold War era pistol to collect and display. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4-1/2 inches. Caliber: 9mm Luger (9x19, 9mm Parabellum) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1925 #201736 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
