Description:
Standard configuration single action pistol with 4.75" barrel and drift adjustable front and rear sight. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detentes are marked with an "S" in white and "F" in red. This particular pistol was use by the Swiss Military as a shooting prize in a pistol shooting competition in Morgarten Switzerland in 1979. "P" release marked on front of trigger guard and discreetly applied import marking on base of frame where covered by the magazine floorplate. Disassembly shows a matching hammer group with the usual half cock. Fitted with checkered black plastic grips, integral escutcheons, secured with a single transverse screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with two correct matte finish magazines. Original holster with battle-ready stud, manufacturer marked and dated "71” on obverse surface.
Condition:
EXC original finish with minimal sharp edge wear as photographed. Comparable condition grips and correct matte finish magazines. Mirror bore with strong rifling and perfect manual mechanics. Holster near excellent, stitching showing no repair. One of the scarcest P49 variations, rarely coming up for sale, as very few were used as shooting prize presentation pistols!
