VERY RARE 1902 AMERICAN EAGLE FAT BARREL LUGER, FIRST 9mm CALIBER MADE.
Description: See the pictures of this a very rare, and very desirable early Model 1902 "American Eagle" Luger pistol that is in excellent rare original condition. These are rare with the fat barrel, as only 600-700 were ever produced in total, all for commercial sales in the United States. This model was a continuation of the earlier 1902 commercial Luger however these were specifically intended for the U.S. market, and these were the first 9mm chambered Lugers, it has an original excellent condition magazine with ingraving "Cal. 9mm" on the wood bottom of it. This pistol has the short old style frame with leaf springs and no stock lug, recessed breech block, dished toggles with toggle lock and grip safety. The barrel extension is also the short old model with the top of the chamber area roll marked with the prominent "American Eagle" crest, with the front toggle correctly marked with the "DWM" logo. The original bluing on this one rates at about 98%, with minor no edge wear on the muzzle and sideplate. The grips are matching serial number and are in excellent condition. Original straw also rates at around 98%. The bore barrel is shiny and very bright. I have seen a few of these rare pistols, but this one condition is the best of all of them.
