#4555 Allen&Wheelock Large Frame Pocket Model Bar-Hammer revolver, 4”x34caliber
Description: #4555 Allen&Wheelock Large Frame Pocket Model Bar-Hammer revolver, 4”x34caliber percussion and being a transition between the pepperbox design and the standard revolver configuration. Made between 1857 and 1861, there were about 1500 made in all variations, so when considering the attrition rate versus the amount produced, they are not a “common handgun” to find. As an example, the leader in this basic category of percussion revolvers, the Colt Pocket Model, reached a production of over 300,000 revolvers! Allen & Wheelock were prolific makers in their day and true pioneers in early revolving firearms development, and for the percussion handgun, or the A&W collector, this is an above average conditioned piece. It has 50-60% of the cylinder scene remaining, works well, and has decent metal and grips. VG-VG+ $795 Price: $795 Antique: Yes Contact Seller |
