Antique Ethan Allen Sidehammer 22 RF
Bird's Head Grips
Description: Serial #15915, .22 RF, 2.5 inch octagon barrel with a fine bore with light roughness and good rifling. This is an 8th issue Sidehammer revolver manufactured by and marked "Ethan Allen & Co. Worcester, Mass." This design survived into the Forehand and Wadsworth era and many specimens are found with that marking. In very good to near fine condition the little pocket revolver retains trace amounts of original finish on the hammer, cylinder and cylinder pin with the balance gun metal to pewter gray having some isolated areas with slight surface roughness. The barrel markings remain very good and legible and all numbered parts correctly match. The rosewood grips are solid and in excellent condition. Mechanically it functions properly with correct indexing, the hammer holding at half and full cock releasing with a crisp trigger pull. A very good example of these neat little side hammer revolvers with the desirable Ethan Allen marking. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
