DANISH Antique Flintlock Pistol by CHRISTIAN WILCKEN KYHL of COPENHAGEN Gorgeous 18th Century Pistol by Renowned Maker
Description: DANISH Antique Flintlock Pistol by CHRISTIAN WILCKEN KYHL of COPENHAGEN Gorgeous 18th Century Pistol by Renowned Maker Here we present an antique Danish Flintlock Officer’s Pistol by Christian Wilcken Kyhl, made circa the late 1700s to early 1800s in Copenhagen, Denmark. Kyhl (b.1762-d.1827) was a famous Danish gunsmith and inventor of internal lock mechanisms. He served as the Royal Armourer at the Arsenal of Copenhagen and headed the Kronborg Small Arms Factory at Helsingor (Elsinore). His personal residence and shop were located at Ny Vestergade 9 from 1797 to 1827, across the street from what is now the National Museum of Denmark. This stunning pistol features gold plated proofs on the barrel, one of which reads “CW KHYL”, the mark of the maker. The other three stamps are of 4-petalled flowers. The brass furniture is likewise gilt and engraved. The stock and ramrod are tipped with horn. The stock is full-length and elegantly carved throughout, especially accenting the metal parts. The grip narrows as it reaches the pommel. Silver front sight blade. The overall condition is fine. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and in nice shape. The thin crack through the grip portion of the stock has been secured and is solid. This is a rare opportunity to own a truly stately piece of weaponry from this renowned Danish maker! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6-1/2 inches. Caliber: .56 (.565) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3345 #200890 SOLD Antique: Yes |
