Irish Flintlock COACH Pistol SNAP BAYONET MONK ENGRAVED Brass Antique 1700s Brass Blunderbuss Flintlock Pistol
Description: Irish Flintlock COACH Pistol SNAP BAYONET MONK ENGRAVED Brass Antique 1700s Brass Blunderbuss Flintlock Pistol Here we present an antique Irish Flintlock Brass Barrel Coach Pistol with a Snap Bayonet, made circa the late-1700s. This example is a sidehammer flintlock pistol with a “manstopping” .60 caliber bore. It would have possibly been made for British Government use. These pistols are known to have been carried on Mail Coaches and by Police/Customs Revenue Service throughout most of the 19th century. It was of course, made primarily for self-defense, and very well would tell stories if it could. Much happened in Britain, in its colonies and abroad during this period. Its bore would have been very intimidating if by chance you were on the receiving end. And, after you had expended your one shot, you now had a 5 inch blade with which to defend yourself. The overall condition is very good. Excellent action. The bayonet comes out with good force and locks in place. The bore is smooth and in very good shape for its age. The ramrod has been repaired. “MONK” marked lock that has been retraced. A Dublin registration or control number has been marked on the left barrel flat next to the original fleur-de-lis proof. This example has maintained a solid stock/grip with less than expected wear, dents and dings. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6-1/8 inches. Caliber: .80” at the Muzzle Bayonet: 6-1/4 inches. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2400 #228241 SOLD Antique: Yes |
