RARE KNIFE/PISTOL Copy of Joseph Rodgers & Sons “SELF PROTECTOR” Percussion
LARGE Multi-Tool: 2 BLADES & SINGLE SHOT PISTOL!
Description: RARE KNIFE/PISTOL Copy of Joseph Rodgers & Sons “SELF PROTECTOR” Percussion LARGE Multi-Tool: 2 BLADES & SINGLE SHOT PISTOL! Here we present a Copy of a Joseph Rodgers & Sons “Self Protector” Percussion Knife Pistol. The originals were made circa the mid-1850s in Sheffield, England. Joseph Rodgers & Sons was an English company founded in 1724 as a Cutlery Company. They were known for making an unrivaled range of pen and pocketknives and went on to become famous for their exhibition cutlery. Joseph Rodgers had a reputation for producing the best quality items in Sheffield. In the company history Under Five Sovereigns (1911), it was said that in ‘Persia, India and Ceylon, the name…has entered into the language as an adjective expressing superlative quality.’ Single and double-barrel knife/pistol combinations like this are uncommon, to say the least. Most date to the 1840s and 1850s, when a lot of people still didn’t trust the newfangled revolvers or even pepperboxes. With the exception of some made in England, most carried no makers’ markings at all. Belgium and Germany were the main source of these types on the European Continent. The overall condition is fine. Strong action. Smooth bore. Nice, solid stock with scissors and tweezers seated in the pommel. Two “Swiss army” style blades are on the underside. A true curiosity! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-3/8 inches. Caliber: .265 Percussion Blade: 3 inches. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1985 #210597 SOLD Antique: Yes |
