Scottish Royal Highlands Regiment Flintlock Pistol Revolutionary War Era Pistol
Description: Antique Scottish Royal Highlands Regiment Flintlock Pistol Black Watch Revolutionary War Era Pistol Here we present an antique Scottish Flintlock Pistol, made circa 1770s in Birmingham by Isaac Bissell. Isaac Bissell was a gun maker based in London that was known for making these pistols for the Scottish Royal Highland Regiment, colloquially known as Black Watch. The RHR served during in North American during the Seven Years War (a.k.a. the French and Indian War) and during the American Revolutionary War. This all steel pistol is quite unique in form, namely in the stock and the trigger. The Butt of the gun features a stylized flourish as well as a threaded piece in the center that comes out and acts as a sharp pick to help clear the vent. The gun also features a slender, all steel ramrod that is well retained. Belt clip on the left side of the gun. There is a floral oval on each side of the grip. The lock is marked “Bissell”, the barrel is marked “RHR” for Royal Highland Regiment, and Birmingham proof marked at the breech. Roman numeral markings present on the bottom of the frame. Condition is very good. Bore is smooth and clear. Action is excellent. A few handling marks, but this is a robust design and very solid. Both the Cody Firearms Museum and the NRA Museum have very similar examples. Barrel is 8 inches in length. Caliber: .60 Bore is smooth in very good condition. The firearm is in excellent working order. Overall condition as seen in photos. Here is a very historical and scarce flintlock pistol for your collection. Very Fast. Very Safe.
