A Scarce & Early Volcanic Lever Action Repeating Navy Pistol With An 8 Inch Barrel In Excellent Untouched Condition. Serial # 629, All matching numbers. All original and complete. Only 1,500 were made with an 8 inch barrel. These Volcanic Arms Pistols were only made from 1855-1857. The pistol has excellent brass, metal, and markings. All edges are very crisp. The barrel is very clearly marked "THE VOLCANIC/REPEATING ARMS CO./PATENT NEW HAVEN CONN. FEB. 14, 1854". It retains all of its original early factory finish on it as shown. The brass frame has nice edges and is untouched with a wonderful patina on it. The hammer has a plum natural patina. All screws are fine. The original grips are fine throughout with crisp edges. The grips are numbered inside to the pistol. The pistol has a fine action and bore. This Is An Excellent And Very Untouched Example Of A Scarce And Very Early Volcanic Lever Action Repeating Lever Action Navy Pistol With An 8 Inch Barrel. These Desirable Pistols Are Very Sought After By Collectors!
