This cased 1870 model Westley Richards Gasser double action sports a 6" Octagonal barrel, hinged loading gate, and ejector rod. Hinged loading gate and lanyard ring compliment the dovetailed front and rear sights. Left siide angled and side flats stamped WESTLEY RICHARDS AND CO., and NEW BOND STREET LONDON. Birmingham proof marks visible throughout. English oak case features a dark blue blaze lining, and divided compartments fitted to accessories. A reproduction paper Westley Richards retailer label is fitted to lid. A wood handled turnscrew (screwdriver), wood cleaning rod with brass tip, and a small pewter oiler complete the set. Revolver has areas of original bright blue, but most has been lost to flaking. Barrel shows moderately oxidized brown patina. The gun is functional, but trigger return spring is weak, and does not reset trigger. Very good bore with some oxidation. Bag shaped grips have crisp checkereing, but with a few dings and bumps. Case very good, with some exterior dings and wear, interior shows fading, and wear from front and rearsights.
