NATIONAL ARMS CO. FRONT LOADING- ENGRAVED- TEAT-FIRE- -REVOLVER
Description: Engraved National Arms Co. Front Loading Teat-Fire Pocket Revolver with Scarce Pivoting Extractor An estimated 30,000 of these revolvers were manufactured from c. 1864 to 1870 by Moore's Patent Firearms Co. and National Arms Co. The later was incorporated by Moore and later acquired by Colt. Of these, only around 7,000 had the hooked pivoting extractor seen on this revolver. The 1865 patent marking is under the front of the extractor. The revolver also has a rounded blade front sight, light border engraving at the muzzle, "NATIONAL ARMS CO. BROOKLYN, N.Y." on top of the barrel, scroll and burst engraving on the breech section of the barrel and barrel lug, coordinating engraving on the silver plated frame, the Williamson patent marking along the rear edge of the cylinder, dark ebonized walnut grips, and matching "HY/55" and "HY55" markings on the inside of the grips and left side of the back strap. Condition is Very fine overall with 85% plus bright original blue finish on the barrel and cylinder, faded original case colors on the hammer, smooth brown and gray patina on the balance of the iron, 75% aged original silver plating on the frame, light aged patina on the exposed brass, minor edge wear on the grips, general minor marks and scratches, and crisp engraving and markings. Mechanically excellent. Buyer Pays $20.00 shipping to the lower 48 states. I accept USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier's Check. Will accept Personal check, with shipping hold. 3% Credit Card Fee.
