S&W 2nd Model

Produced from (1877-1891), the S&W 2nd Model was a continuation of the 1st model, Baby Russian, which was only produced from 1876-1877. This gun is a 5-shot, top-break revolver with a 4-inch barrel and retains approximately 85-90% of its original nickel finish, with the majority of its loss concentrated in the flutes of the cylinder. The 30,XXX serial number puts the date of manufacture on this piece at 1880, making it about 136 years old! The original S&W gutta percha grips are worn, but intact, with no cracks, chips, or breaks. The bore is fine with minor scattered pitting due in part to the nature of black powder ammunition. The rifling is strong and sharp. The case colors are visible on the hammer and the gun is mechanically sound. This is a nice, fine, collectible, antique Smith & Wesson.

We ship firearms via UPS. Hand guns must travel via Air, whilst long guns and other items can go via Ground. Non-firearm accessories, such as magazines, can be shipped via USPS Priority Mail at the customer's request. We provide tracking numbers with all of our transactions.
