The 69 caliber French an 9 flintlock Army pistol was introduced in 1801. The 7 7/8' rounc barrel has a good bore with light pitting. All the metal is bright with brown staining. The barrel is marked at the breech 6381 followed by a backwards C followed by a right facing arrow followed by a script R. There is a large Z at the intersection of the breech plug and barrel. The breech tang is marked LE AN 9. The nosecap, sideplate, backstrap, trigger guard, and butt cap are inspected with a crown over P. The lock is marked Mre Imperial de St Etienne (barely readable). All the brass parts are bright. The ramrod is present. The stock is very good with issue wear including some dents on the left and with no chips or cracks. The action functions correctly. This is a good example of the French an 9 flintlock Army pistol that is still in original flint.
