"French an 9 Gendarme Flintlock Pistol (AH6455) DTX

Description:
"This nice French Gendarme Model an 9 flintlock pistol is dated 1817. The overall length is approx. 10"".  The 5"" round 60 caliber barrel has a fine smooth bore with light roughness. All the metal parts are bright with light spotting and discoloration with the trigger guard and butt cap turned brown. The barrel has an S near the pan with an impressed script P to the rear and C.1817 on the left flat. The barrel tang is marked M, an, 9 (Model Year 9). The lock is marked Manuf. Roy. over de Maubeuge (Royal Manufactory of Maubeuge). There are various inspection and mating marks on other parts. The stock is good with sharp edges, no chips or cracks, medium wear and P.C 1817 and a small inspector's stamp on the left flat. The left grip is stamped with the police unit number, 134. It is equipped with a replacement ramrod. The action functions correctly. This is a very good example of French an 9 Gendarme flintlock pistol. (DALLAS LOCATION)
