SxS Defensive Sidearm with Engraved Panoplies

Here we present an antique Double Barrel Flintlock Pocket Pistol, made circa the late-1700s in Europe. This pistol is small in stature and has two .35 caliber bores. This handsome pistol would have been most at home in a gentleman’s coat pocket to have against ne’er do wells and ruffians roaming the city streets in tumultuous Europe at the end of the 18th century, especially having two shots to fire off rather than one. This pistol could have been the type of pistol a soldier would have possibly purchased on his own to bring to battle in case he was to come into contact with the enemy.

This piece features an engraved panoply of arms on either side of the frame as well as a carved grip with silver wire inlays.

The overall condition is very good. Excellent actions. The right cock is missing the jaw screw. Both bores are in good shape with strong rifling. Solid, carved grip with intricate wire inlays, which are still 90% intact. Engraved panoply of arms on the frame. Light gray patina throughout.
