Here we present an antique Blissett Brass Frame Boxlock Flintlock Pistol, made circa late 1700s to early 1800s in turn of the century in London, England. Blissett operated out of London and Birmingham in the late 1700s to the early 1800s. This boxlock pistol has a brass frame with London proof marks on the bottom of the action at the breech. It features floral and scroll engraving patterns with “BLISSETT” on the left side with “LONDON” on the right.

This attractive pistol was made primarily for self-defense inside point-and-shoot distances. The boxlock frame is made entirely of brass. This example has a silver pommel cap and escutcheon.

The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore has dimmed and contains a spot of pitting or two, overall very good for its age. Solid, sharply checkered grip. Floral engraved frame. Markings are legible. The right side of the frizzen spring is chipped but still functions as the other side is intact.
