Fine Pirate Ship's Captain Flint Belt Pistol
Description: SOLD An exquisite, very fine, .52 cal, 8 3/4'' part round barrel with partial integral rib and an oxidized bore. The barrel is an overall soft brown patina with pewter undertones, showing a rather nice gold-washed brass pinched front sight with a small empty groove just to its front, perhaps where another sight once sat. The convex lockplate features a pronounced teat at its rear with ''A Liege'' barely discernible, and a rather nice swan-neck cock and unbridled frizzen which shows a period relining. The lock is a dull gray patina with light oxidation. All of the brass hardware shows evidence of a one-time gold wash. There is a ribbed ramrod thimble, and fancy tailpipe, fancy triggerguard with chiseled urn finial, grotesque at front extension and panoplies of arms on the bow. There is a grotesque buttcap also with panoplies of arms, a flat sideplate showing panoplies of arms and lion and there is a pierced rococo monogram plate atop the wrist which is un-engraved. The French walnut stock rates about very good showing an old light cleaning many years ago.. There is delicate Baroque carving around the tang with another nice flourish to the rear of the tailpipe with ribbed stock flats and there is a stained dowel as ramrod. The lock does function mechanically. A lovely pistol, very attractive and well-made, showing its age, but still fabulous. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost. We don’t have a web site .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in. I try to keep guns affordable, which means I make less money than most dealers. You won’t get altitude sickness, or nose bleed, with my prices! I consistently have the best selection of older guns If you attempt to buy, you must still contact us for details . Best to email to buy. Sometimes a local person can stop buy and purchase before the gun is removed. Sometimes not home to get calls. Some guns are required shipment to a gun dealer near you for a transfer to you when it arrives. Otherwise many older or black powder guns ship to your door. With the widest selection of older guns at great prices, We don’t have a store, and sell on the internet only. I’m easy to get along with. Thank You SOLD Antique: Yes |
