French Flintlock Pocket Pistol (AH5568)

Description:

French Flintlock Pocket Pistol. Louis XVI period (1750-1760) two stage barrel, round/octagonal with gold sunburst near the muzzle and gold flourishes on the octagonal section. The stock at the breech tang is relief carved. The long tine buttcap is typical of the period. Trigger guard and finial are inlaid into the stock and the stock expertly cut away to make a raised border around the metal. The action works perfectly. Barrel is 3 ¼” length and overall length 7”. A good bit of work went into this pistol to give it all the niceties it has.
