Fully Stamped/ London marked proofed 18th century British Service flintlock pistol, .67 bore diameter. The action is very solid and functions perfectly. The flint is present. The barrel is marked with a English Crown over V proof & Crown over X stamp. “Tower Stamp” present under safety mechanism. The right side of the lock bears a large Crown over GR (Georgius Rex), indicating manufacture during the reign of King George III or IV. A “TC” stamp is present on the left side above the trigger. The top of the butt appears marked “CAS” over “D”. The lock plate screw shows proper inner head radius and assembler mark “I I.” The wood stock is very old with a deep dark varnish, wear, an old weathered patina chip one bottom of bottom left side grip handle. Wood has usually handling marks that come with age. No abuse. Gun has Swivel Style ram rod. The pistol retains a brass-mounted configuration with the metal mostly in the white with scattered pinpricking shallow pitting. The barrel measures 8.4". Very nice example. All proper.
