R Johnson flintlock  pistol. Manufactured in Middelton Ct. and Dated 1839. Stamped US/EE/P with a Inspector Cartouche on the Grip.
Pistol is complete with style original Ramrod which is not original, but looks like the Aston having more meat to the flat portion. Birdsnest appears to be a period style replacementMetal has a pleasing mottled look. Wood shows signs of use, no cracks or splits. Action operates corectly and cocks and holds on both positions. Smooth bore .54 caliber.
A nice pistol, not mint by any means but a very nice collectable or reenactment piece.
