Here we present an antique Engraved Dalton & Company Flintlock Pistol, made circa the mid-to-late 18th Century. Edward Dalton of Dublin, Ireland was an active gunmaker between 1772 and 1783. His business worked out of 46 College Green, Dublin, Ireland. Based on Dalton’s period of activity, this pistol was built in the era of the American Revolution. The side of the frame is marked “Dalton & Co”. This single shot pistol features floral engraving on the frame. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a mixed patina. The markings are clear and legible. The hardwood grips are in fair condition. Both the right and the left grip have cracks in the wood. The bore is smooth and dark.
