"Beautiful Pair of French Target Pistols by Guillaume Robert Aglon of Saarn (12334517)
Description: "NSN. Made circa 1835. 48 caliber with a 8.5" barrel. This pair of guns is in excellent condition. The barrels are Damascus and finished in French gray as is the lock. The small parts are beautifully engraved and finished in gold plating. The stock has exceptional scalloped checkering. The grip still has the empire style profile. The barrel has a Liege proof mark. We have only found one mention of a gunsmith named Aglon and that is an obituary for a Guillaume Robert Aglon in a Liege newspaper in 1835. Saarn is a village in Germany, but he may worked there. In any case, this is a fantastic set of beautifully made target pistols! Antique: Yes Price: $8,500.00 Contact Seller |
