"US Model 1842 Percussion Navy Pistol

Description:
"Dated 1845. This pistol was made by Ames in Springfield Massachusetts . This gun is in 54 caliber with a 6" round barrel. Metal has a brown to gray patina with a fair amount of handling wear. Wood matches metal. There is some chipping around the lock and a small crack that runs from the lock retaining screw. Action works fine. This gun is a good representative example of a gun used in service.
