A Very Scarce & Early U.S. Civil War Navy Issued Percussion Colt Model 1860 Flutted Army Revolver With Its Original Military Marked Gaylord Holster
Description: A Very Scarce & Early U.S. Civil War Navy Issued Percussion Colt Model 1860 Flutted Army Revolver With Its Original Military Marked Gaylord Holster In Nice Untouched Condition. Serial #4,874, made in 1861. It factory letters out being shipped to the U.S. Navy in New York in 1861. The revolver has nice & very untouched metal throughout with nice markings. The barrel address, and patent markings on the frame & cylinder are all very good. All screws are also very good. All of the metal on the revolver has a very dark and natural chocolate brown patina throughout it. The brass trigger guard is fine and untouched. The original wood grips are also nice and untouched. They match the gun perfectly in condition and looks. The bore and action in it are both good. The original military marked holster is very good throughout and is marked "GAYLORD" on the back. It has its original front flap, locking tab, and plug in the bottom. The first wartime order of Colt Flutted Army Revolvers for the Navy went to New York & Boston on may 2, 1861 with 250 revolvers in each shipment. The cost of each of these revolvers was $25.00 each. Most of the Colt Flutted Army Revolvers were issued to ironclads On The Mississippi. These included the "Essex, Cincinnati, Pittsburg, Louisville, Baron DeKalb, and the Mount City. This Is A Very Rare And All Original Example Of A Very Scarce & Early U.S. Civil War Navy Issued Percussion Model 1860 Flutted Army Revolver With Its Original Military Marked Gaylord Holster That Has Always Been Together And Was Definitely Used By The Navy in The Civil War Starting In 1861!
