CASED, ENGRAVED BRACE of BELTHOOK PISTOLS .485 British Antique In Fitted Velvet Lined Case with Accoutrements
Description: CASED, ENGRAVED BRACE of BELTHOOK PISTOLS .485 British Antique In Fitted Velvet Lined Case with Accoutrements Here we present a nicely engraved Pair of antique British Boxlock Pistols, made circa 1850 in Birmingham, England. These little self-defense pistols would have been most at home clipped onto the belt or in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London or Paris during the mid-1800s. These pistols are small, light and simple. With their .485 caliber bores, these pistols would have been quite the deterrent against ne’er do wells, ruffians, and highwaymen roaming the streets and highways in 19th Century Britain. Both pistols are neatly engraved with floral scroll. Octagonal barrels. These have all the features that would have been desirable at this point in time, including belt hooks, captive ramrods, sliding hammer half-cock safeties, folding triggers, and German silver thumb escutcheons. They are housed in a fitted hardwood case that includes a flask, nipple wrench, cap tin, ball mold, and some ball included. Also includes the case key. The overall condition is fine. Beautiful and clear engravings. Birmingham proofs. The actions are excellent and crisp. The bores are smooth and in great shape. The grips are hand-checkered and solid. The case is in very good condition. There is a stable split across the top of the lid. This is a gorgeous set that will make a fantastic conversation piece in the office or the library. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels are 3-1/2 inches. Calibers: .485 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $3800 #230703 SOLD Antique: Yes |
