MEXICAN WAR H. ASTON U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION CAVALRY PISTOL DATED 1846. 8 ½” smoothbore .54 cal. barrel with Ordnance “J H/P” proof at breech. Lock stamped “MIDDTN/CONN/1846” and “US.H ASTON”. All original and complete except for the lanyard ring. Very good plus condition with nice old deep grey patina on metal. Stock with the original moderately worn finish and faint remnant of an inspector’s cartouche. Old hairline forward of lock plate. Lock in working order and good bore.
