Lock with perfect “CROWN/BROAD ARROW” and “TOWER/1853” stamps. “CROWN/VR” Royal Cypher stamp to the rear of the hammer. Walnut stock with excellent inspectors stamps and assemblers marks (Turner, Terry). Perfect “BROAD ARROW/BO” Board of Ordnance stamp.All original and with 90% plus original blue finish. Stock with all the finish as well. Beautiful unpolished brass mounts. Original lanyard swivel and stirrup ramrod. Only a few thousand made. Many saw service with the Land Transport Corps and with land forces in New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria. Exceptional example.
