TOTNESS, DEVON, ENGLAND Antique HAMBLING SWIVEL BREECH Double Deringer .38
ENGRAVED Double Barrel SUPERPOSED Over/Under
Description: TOTNESS, DEVON, ENGLAND Antique HAMBLING SWIVEL BREECH Double Deringer .38 ENGRAVED Double Barrel SUPERPOSED Over/Under Here we present an antique English Hambling Swivel Breech Over/Under Pistol made circa the 1850s in Totness, Devon, England. Totness is a market town and civil parish at the head of the estuary of the River Dart in Devon, England. The Hambling gunmakers in this area of Devon include the father, William Bartlett Hambling, and his seven sons, those being William Baker, James, John, Charles George, Hiram Bartlett, Henry, and Reuben. This would have been intended as a self-defense gun. The engravings on the frame of this pistol show that it was marketed to someone who wanted more than just a tool. The over/under configuration is highlighted by two separate percussion chambers, one in each barrel. In its day, this little two shot over/under percussion pistol would have been a very handy self-defense weapon to have around, having two shots to fire off instead of one! This pistol was likely carried in a coat pocket! The overall condition is good. The action is excellent. Bores are in good shape. The grip is solid. Each of the barrels turns off as intended. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels are 2-1/8 inches. Caliber: .38 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1700 #244164 SOLD Antique: Yes |
