The side plate is an expansive array of a panoply of arms including, sabre, flags, drums, bugles and axe. The mounts are all of brass. The brass plate inlaid on the stock at the wrist is engraved with the letters ""HP"". The long ear butt cap has a grotesque mask in high relief. The trigger guard bow is engraved and the trigger guard finial is of an acorn as is often seen on pistols of this period. The pistols of this period and form are referred to as ""Georgian Pistols"". Reflecting the rule of King George III 1760-1820. The brass parts all have a matching beautiful untouched patina. The wrist has a very old repair that is not readily noticeable. Overall this is a very attractive Georgian Pistol.
