Guns International #: 101120785
Seller's Inventory #: AH4902
U.S. Model 1842 Pistol by Aston. Dated 1852 on the lock and 1846 on the barrel. All markings on the lock are visible. Cartouches are very good. Metal has a light gray patina. One finds these guns with mismatched dates between the lock and barrel, but typically it is only a year. Hard to say what happened here but I would think this lock is a replacement. Condition matches well and we have no reason to believe this was not period.
