Antique DOUBLE BARREL Unmarked BOXLOCK Percussion SIDE x SIDE Pocket Pistol .44 Caliber Self Defense Muff / Pocket Pistol!
Description: Antique DOUBLE BARREL Unmarked BOXLOCK Percussion SIDE x SIDE Pocket Pistol .44 Caliber Self Defense Muff / Pocket Pistol! Here we present an engraved antique Double Barrel Boxlock Percussion Pocket Pistol, made circa the 1840s-50s. This pistol is likely English or Belgian. This would have been intended as a self-defense gun. The grip is solid walnut. In a day when the single shot pistol was the standard, this side by side percussion pistol would have been a very handy self-defense weapon to have around, having two shots to fire off instead of one! This little self-defense pistol would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy city of London, Paris, or Liege during the tumultuous times of the mid-1800s. These type pistols are small, light and simple. The “Pocket Pistol” name says it all. They were the "Saturday Night Specials" of the 16th-18th century. Before the Deringer, they were "Gentleman's" or "Muff Pistols", typically, a smaller pistol that was easily concealed. They were favored among the gentry and women because of these traits. Men would carry them concealed in a waistcoat pocket and women would hide them in a hand muff. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bores are in good shape (aged). Tight grip with average and expected wear. “35” is stamped on the bottom of both barrel and the frame. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-1/6 inches. Caliber: .44 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #217088 SOLD Antique: Yes |
