Antique ROBERTSON of PHILADELPHIA Percussion Target Pistol Dueling .48 Cal. 19th Century Percussion Single Shot Pistol
Description: Antique ROBERTSON of PHILADELPHIA Percussion Target Pistol Dueling .48 Cal. 19th Century Percussion Single Shot Pistol Here we present an antique William Robertson Percussion Target Pistol, made circa the 1830s-40s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. William Robertson was a Philadelphia gunsmith, known for his fine dueling pistols, between the years of 1829 through 1855. Robertson was located on Gunmaker’s Row on Walnut Street between Front & Second, 2 doors down from famous gunmaker and retailer John Krider. This pistol is quite large and features a heavy octagonal barrel in .48 caliber. The trigger guard has the spur as such target and dueling pistols tend to have. German silver barrel wedge escutcheons and pommel cap. The top barrel flat is faintly marked “ROBERTSON PHILADA”. The locks are also engraved for the maker. The overall condition is good. The action is under great spring tension and the hammer/trigger do function; however, the hammer is sluggish to stay in the fully cocked position. The set part of the trigger needs adjustment. The bore is smooth and in good shape. The stock has been repaired around the lock. This is a large and handsome pistol that would be great on display. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 10 inches. Caliber: .48 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1515 #210587 SOLD Antique: Yes |
