Description: ENGRAVED Antique DOUBLE BARREL SxS European FLINTLOCK Pocket/Belt Pistol FINE .34 Caliber SELF DEFENSE Belt / Pocket Pistol Here we present an antique Engraved European Double Barrel Flintlock Pocket/Belt Pistol, made circa the early 1800s. This would have likely been intended as a self-defense gun. In a day when the single shot pistol was the standard, this side by side flintlock pistol would have been a very handy self-defense weapon to have around, having two shots to fire off instead of one! This self-defense pistol would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London or Paris during the tumultuous times of the early to mid-1800s. This pistol is fairly small sized and has twin .34 caliber bores. The small-sized ones, such as this one, are what would be carried in the busy streets of Paris or London during the tumultuous times of the early 1800’s in Western Europe. This “Pocket Pistol” name says it all. The overall condition is nearing fine. Excellent actions. Both bores are in good shape for their ages. Engraved frame. The checkering is sharp on the grip.
