Measuring about 16 1/2" long with a 9 1/2"Oct/rd. barrel of caliber .630" at muzzle or .62ca; rypicl of French weapons. Action works good and showers prifuse sparks in the brass pan.Left side of breech has indistinct proofs and no marks on the lock-plate. Has iron ram-rod and brass funnoture. The Ftrnvh walnut wood has been blackened as storing wooden weappns bellow deck for long periods of time with high humidity the wood will swell and the lock mechanism will get pinched and not function properly so they covered the stocks with black.Butt plate has engraving of :9LW& 0ver small 3 and large 8. The wood around the butt-plate usually chipped as when boarding an enemy ship first shot is made at the most emminent enemy threat and then the butt is used as a skull crusher.
Brass trigger guard also ha sa large no. 2.
