Description: H. ASTON U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION PISTOL DATED 1847 (MEXICAN WAR). 54 caliber with 8 1/2" barrel. All original with matching barrel and lock dates and in superb original condition. Lock stamped “MIDDTN/CONN/1847” and “H. ASTON”. Barrel tang dated “1847”. Barrel breech stamped “U.S./JH/P”. Good original condition,much of the bright polish is gone and a peppery patina remains, excellent cartouche markings and several "H" markings on the brass. Screws all are original. Stock with the original finish and has a tight crack on left side at breech. Good bore and perfect working order. Rare early Mexican War and in good untouched condition.
