J Henry percussion under hammer pistol a few known to exist museum quality
Description: J Henry is the son of JJ Henry, whose family with excellent documentation of all the firearms manufactured from the revolutionary war To the 1830s. !!!! This under Hammer was the a boot pistol in the 1830s. It looks to be a 42 caliber with very good rifling defined and sharp somewhat dark. Wood is beautiful not a mark on it condition is museum quality for its aged. It's very nice. Joseph Henrys family of gunmakers house is now a museum in Pennsylvania near Nazareth called the Pennsylvania long arms Museum in Jacobsburg Pennsylvania .has two earlier examples of boot pistols, somewhat different designed then this one. this J Henry pistol has a very clear maker Mark of J Henry, which often is not found on his guns.
