Percussion Pistol 19th Century converted flintlock
Description: REDUCED PRICE!!!! Heavyweight percussion pistol. Probably European. Probably military. Probably 18th century flintlock, converted in the 19th century to percussion. Approximate .56 caliber, smooth bore, approx. 8” octagonal barrel. Overall 14” length. With ramrod. Brass trigger guard, back strap, butt plate, and ramrod band. Proof marks on barrel are visible but well worn. The large letters “IL” are engraved in the stock underside in front of trigger guard. Stock is cracked through and through at the wrist, but repaired apparently long ago using a brass strap and four screws. With the trigger guard strap holding the opposite side, it is actually a very solid repair; feels firm and reliable. Bore is good. Action works fine and the hammer holds at both full and half cock. This piece is very heavy at 3 pounds 12 ounces. What a handsome piece of history! Please take note of the condition as is apparent in the photos, and please contact me with any questions. Antique – no FFL needed. This is a collectible antique firearm and not warranted safe for shooting. Purchaser assumes all risks and should have a qualified gunsmith inspect the firearm before attempting to fire live ammunition. Shipping and insurance are additional cost. UPS ground service is available to the contiguous USA for $35 plus insurance. Alaska and Hawaii are additional cost. 3-Day Inspection period applies to purchases at list price. Upon return of the firearm in purchased condition with all parts and accessories, purchase price will be refunded less shipping/handling/insurance costs. SOLD Antique: Yes |
