Rare German Dreyse Needle Fire Single Shot Pistol 1850's
Description: Very rare gun. Well marked on the top of the barrel DREYSE SOMMERDA in silver. Has some gold and silver inlay work at the rear of the frame. Nicely engrave steel parts with some silver accents. 7 1/8 inch octagon barrel. Wood is fine with nice carving. Bore is dirty with some rust and pitting. The bolt mechanism is a well made replacement, but does not appear to function correctly, needle is too short as well. Original adjustable rear sight. All in all a very high grade commercial example of a very rare gun to begin with, just needs a bit more work. Serial number of 4850 on the right side of the barrel. ANTIQUE!
