This .22 Long Rifle caliber British single shot target pistol is based on the lobert system breech loading action. The bore is excellent. The pistol has Birmingham proofs (crossed swords) and is marked with 22LR and pressure test numbers on the bottom of the barrel. The ovverall length is 15.5"". The barrel length is 10"". Lifting the breech block lever extracts the fired cartridge. The adjustable rear sight moves on a calibrated bar marked 1 to 8. It slides on the bar by loosening the screw on the left side of the sight. The front sight has a screw which moves laterally to move the fine blade and post sight The action works perfectly. The barrel has 98-99% original blue. The stock is very good with no cracks, no damage, and only very minor handling marks. The grip has small flutes for better handling with the flutes continuing as part of the buttcap. We have handled many Flobert system target pistols. This one is very well made and one of the best we have seen. Note: the Flobert system was invented by Dr. Louis Fobert and was used for indoor target shooting. Many of the ""parlors"" were popular in winter and contests were always part of the experience!
