This very fine cased 22 caliber parlor pistol was made by Faure-Lepage of Paris. The overall length is approx 15"". The 9 1/8"" barrel has a good smooth bore with areas of erosion caused by firing black powder rounds. The first 4 1/8"" of the barrel are octagon followed by two groove transition wedding band followed by an approx. 3.5"" round section transitioning to another wedding band to the final .75"" octagon section. The top of the round section is marked in script H Faure-Le Page a Paris. The rear octagon section has attractive silver wire inlays on the top three flats with a little missing from the right flat. The barrel tang, buttcap, and trigger guard bow are nicely engraved in a floral motif. The ebony stock is heavily carved on the sides of the grips, right and left flats, and forend. The stock is excellent. The action functions correctly. The 16""X6""X2.25"" oak case is very good. In addition to the gun, the case contains the key and cleaning rod for the gun. The interior lining is original but faded as should be expected. This nice looking cased parlor pistol by a well-known maker is attractively priced.
