Antique Colt Open Top Model Single Action Pocket Revolver with a 2.375” round barrel, , 7 shot ,spur trigger, and walnut grips in .22 short . Locking walnut case, and .22 RF ammo
The Colt Open Top Model Single Action Pocket Revolver was produced by Colt from 1871 to 1877. The Open Top model was Colt's first successful metallic cartridge revolver, and it was a popular choice among law enforcement officers and civilians alike. The revolver was designed to fire a black powder .22 rimfire cartridge, and it featured a unique open-top frame design that made it easy to load and unload.
The spur trigger on this particular revolver was a common feature of pocket revolvers of the time, and it made it easy to draw and fire the weapon quickly. The walnut grips are also a nice touch, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal of the revolver.
Condition: 2.375” nice bore with some moderate pitting and still showing strong rifling. Original metal surfaces still retain some of the original nickel on the barrel and cylinder. The frame retains about 75% original nickel finish flaking to a pale ocher brass showing some dings and moderate scratches. The smooth walnut grips remain in near excellent condition with strong parts of original varnish and some light handling marks. The barrel markings are very good and legible. Mechanically has a strong hammer action with a sluggish cylinder hand that rotates intermittently. If held upright or level the cylinder hand engages and rotates as it should with good timing. Pointed down I believe the cylinder play is just a tiny bit off, not fully engaging the wheel.

This collection comes with a very nice antique constructed walnut case showing some thin cracks and a tiny bit of warping with the lid closed. Includes a locking key that works as it should. A small walnut block that contains 12 cartridges of .22 blanks. Another cut-out section contains a 50 round box of Remington UMC Kleanbore 22 short cartridges. The cartridge box is in excellent condition, No tears.
