This is a scarce large frame Bacon Civil War era pistol in .32 RF; only about 1600 large frame Bacon pistols in this configuration were manufactured; receiver and 5 inch barrel finish is mostly faded, the edges are sharp and the screw heads are not marred; wooden grips retain the original varnish with slight handling mars; bore is minty with no corrosion and barrel is marked BACON MFG CO NORWICH CONN.; pistol loads by pressing pin under barrel and pivoting barrel from receiver frame; numbers all match 436, fully functional and crisp spur trigger action; a fine condition Bacon pistol with a period correct shoulder holster; holster has a small tear as seen in the pictures.
