Description:
    SOLD   A very scarce American single shot .32 cal rimfire Derringer manufactured circa 1865-1871. Engraved on the side of barrel "E. Allen & Co. Worcester Mass. Allen's Pat March 7th 1865". Iron frame with side swivel barrel for loading. Spur trigger. The wooden grips showing signs of wear and use, the condition is reasonable,  and the action works fine. Overall length approx 7 1/2" inches long. The underside of barrel is fitted with a sliding ejector. This is an interesting and unusual early model derringer, total production acording to Flaydermman's guide is estimated at less than two thousand guns, making this a scarce model with a 3  7/8" long with sharp rifling and few patches of surface corrosion.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
