Manufactured from 1886 to 1896 Total quantity about 25,000.  Serial #16533
Rare Antique J. Stevens Third Model Single shot Pistol -  Single shot chambered for .22 short or long rimfire cartridges  3 ½”  long Blue barrel - part round and part octagon , that pivots upward for loading . Features an external hammer and spur trigger.  It has a brass frame , nickel plated finish semi-circular side plate with the firing pin and rear sight mounted on the hammer.   Square butt walnut grips. 

Barrel is marked :
“J. STEVENS A&T CO. 
CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. USA” PAT.SEPT.6.86

Condition: Serial number  16533 – frame, barrel,  are all matching, smooth walnut Grips are excellent, original factory finish with minimal wear marks and numbered to the gun.  — Blued barrel with most of the original finish fading to an antique gun-metal finish. The brass  Frame retains most of the original nickel finish with light edge wear and in very good condition . Barrel lockup is tight.   Hammer and trigger work very well. Oxidized and lightly pitted bore still showing evident rifling.   2 line barrel address remains crisp and legible. Please judge for yourself from the photos.
Despite its age, this Pistol is in very good mechanical condition and has been well-maintained over the years. It's a true collector's item that's also functional in very good condition with minor wear and tear consistent with age.
